What to expect:
The LMI has the newest, most technologically advanced, market-leading Siemens MRI scanner available to them.
You will need to fast for at least 6 hours prior to your appointment
The full body MRI takes approximately 70-90 minutes, capturing over 6000 images.
The images will be reviewed by an AHPRA-registered specialist radiologist.
You will be booked in with LMI’s Doctor to go over the results.
An electronic report with be sent to you following this appointment.
Note:
The Full Body MRI scan is a screening tool and the protocol we have developed balances the successful detection of sinister pathology vs patient comfort (ie duration 90 minutes). It is not a substitute for a dedicated scan of a particular region. Dedicated scans can take 45 minutes for one region alone (eg the knee). If you would like a more detailed scan of a region of concern (commonly the knees, prostate or breast), then please inform our patient coordinator, and we will provide you with a quote for this.
